The Diocese of the South was founded in 1976 as a diocese of the autocephalous Orthodox Church in AmericaThe see of the Diocese is St. Seraphim Cathedral in DallasTexas.  Its first and only bishop has been His Eminence, Archbishop Dmitri of Dallas and the South, who fell asleep in the Lord on August 28, 2011.  The Diocese is currently administrated by His Grace, Bishop Nikon as locum tenens.
