St. Anthony's celebrated another joyous Pascha, complete with our traditional Agape Vespers picnic, where the kids made short work of piñatas and everyone enjoyed a delicious feast.
Blanco family joins St. Anthony's - 04/27/2013
Our parish is blessed to welcome the Blanco family into the Holy Orthodox Church through the mystery of baptism and chrismation. Aaron, Janee, and their children were received on Lazarus Saturday, pictured here with their sponsors Mark Freemyer and Tina Gilson. May God bless and grant them many years in His service!
Sisterhood Thanksgiving Dinner - 11/18/2012
The St. Macrina Sisterhood hosted our annual Pre-Thanksgiving dinner (rescheduled with special dispensation from our Locum Tenens Archbishop Nikon). Donations benefited the Sisterhood's charitable work, including their food pantry with basic staples for the needy. Thank you to all who joined in the festivities!
Chancellor and Dean visit - 09/16/2012Our parish was blessed by a visit from the Chancellor of the Diocese of the South, Fr. Marcus Burch, and the Interim Dean of the Dallas Deanery, Fr. Basil Zebrun on September 16th. They met with our Parish Council, spoke with parishioners, concelebrated the Divine Liturgy with Fr. Leo, and attended our Annual Meeting. Their presence was a source of encouragement and inspiration, for which we are thankful. May God bless their ministries and grant them many years in His service.
Baptism of Vera Troy - 09/08/2012The congregation of St. Anthony's was blessed to welcome a new sister in Christ - Vera Troy, daughter of Jerry and Taylor Troy and goddaughter of Jennifer Baine and Matthew Troy - through the sacrament of Holy Baptism on Saturday, September 8th. May God bless their family and grant them many years!
Celebratory Banquet - 02/10/2007Following the Divine Liturgy, a Celebratory Banquet was held at the Agave Room at Sunset Station, an historic and restored train station at St. Paul Square, not far from Saint Anthony Church.
Saint Anthony ChurchDesigned in 1918 by Alfred E. Giles, a well known architect in South Texas and Northern Mexico, as a Dutch Reformed Church. Purchased by Saint Anthony Mission in 1979. Interior renovation in 1991-92. Listed as a Designated Historic Structure and San Antonio.
IconostasHand-carved in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2005-2006 by Mr. Peter Nedkov. Iconography by Mr. George Goutsev who has painted the interior of All Saints Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Nicosia, Cyprus. Installed in Saint Anthony Church in November 2006. To be dedicated by Archbishop Dmitri in February 2007.
